I have personally selected, and written an introduction to, each one of the videos below. I have chosen them because of their unique
value VIDEO # 1 and # 2: THE MAIN PARADOX IN THE SCIENCE OF NUTRITION Dear students and friends You will see that their propositions are VERY different and even contradictory. Well, this is what is so fascinating about the science of nutrition -- its paradoxes. After watching both videos, you may conclude: "if you are a good cardiologist and look at optimum health from that perspective, you eat a plant based diet and recommend the same to your patients. If you are a good neurologist or brain specialist, you eat a hunter-gatherer diet and recommend the same to your patients (which includes meat of course.) So, what is going on?! Are we seeing again the same old conflict between head and heart, now at a biochemical level? Strangely, both diets work! But as I often say in my classes on brain nutrition, if you eat a plant based diet, you better take many (about 17) measures to prevent neurological / brain problems down the road. If you eat a hunter-gatherer diet, you may also need to take measures, in order to prevent cardiovascular disease down the road (especially if there is cardiovascular disease in your family). In the end, it is a personal decision. But to make a good decision we need to be informed. Of course the worst decision is to simply follow the "everyone's diet." Then we simply become part of the statistics -- and the present statistics for heart and brain illnesses are "disheartening." Consider forwarding this link to your dear ones.
